The 5 Laws of Success; and why Everybody should be using them.

First off you should know that I am one of those people who doesn’t pass along chain emails, I don’t play the lottery or call into radio shows to win concert tickets. And I definitely don’t subscribe to 7 Steps to Nirvana or the Top 10 Reasons to eat my veggies…y’all know what I’m talking about. So believe me when I say I was super hesitant to share the 5 Laws of Success, let alone call them what they are. But you now what? They work. So I did. And here they are:

Law #1 – The Law of Power

The Law of Power states that you can’t just talk about it, you gotta be about it. Now before you drop a high five emoji, here me out. What it takes to be about what you talk about is a major feat in today’s world. It takes crazy courage to be authentic in a world of so many masks. It takes a certain foolhardiness to live in alignment with your purpose vs the cultural paradigm for success. The Law of Power lays the foundation for lasting success because it challenges you to deal with all the ways you lose your power UP FRONT. True success is never a ‘hindsight is 20/20’ phenomenon. Rather true success is cultivated from the inside out. And Power is what drives success from your inner realms into your outer waking reality.

Law #2 – The Law of Passion

The Law of Passion states that if you’re not knocked out and lit up by what you’re doing- then it ain't worth doing. Okay this is one is D.E.E.P. Right off the bat, you gotta deal with you actually don’t know a dang thang about passion; what it is and what it ain’t. And this Law aims to educate you with a quickness. See passion is fueled by desire, and desire is the seed of creation. In other words- nothing in the known and unknown universe or multiverse for those of you who roam that far; was ever, or will ever be created outside of desire. So, that being said, if you want to be successful and you want your success to last, at some point you must, you must, you must connect what you’re up to with your passion. The modern version of this was poignantly captured by Joseph Campbell as ‘Follow your Bliss’. For some this may seem elusive, but utilizing the 5 Laws of Success gives you a chance to get grounded in this Universal Truth and eventually live from it on a daily basis.

Law #3 – The Law of Purpose

The Law of Purpose states that only those who live according to their purpose will ever be satisfied. Sounds simple enough. But what if you don’t know your purpose? You’re not alone. Most people don’t. And with good reason too! The current paradigm of society and culture is designed to distract you from your purpose. It takes a willingness to leave the well-worn paths and choose the road less taken (thank you Thoreau), to even discover your purpose. Once discovered however, you are then faced with the delightful conundrum of how to live your purpose. This is where coaches, retreats, programs, workshops- really any place that offers community and a safe space of exploration comes in. See just as your purpose is unique to you, so are the many ways to express and embody your purpose. This Law can be both fun and frustrating as you recognize that there is no right or wrong way to live your purpose. The satisfaction arises in your experience of yourself as you take the challenge of living your purpose head on.

Law #4 – The Law of Priorities

The Law of Priorities state First Things First. Now this one can be tricky. Well not so much tricky as layered. Like an onion. This Law leads you into the beauty of our holographic nature and enables you to seamlessly transmute, transform and translate your inner world into your outer reality. As woo-woo as that may sound, this is the space where you put concrete systems and structures in place such that your vision has a place to live, breathe and thrive outside of you. Pretty cool huh? And you though this was all fluff and no real stuff ;)

Law #5 – The Law of Performance

This Law is the pièce de ré·sis·tance that pulls the previous laws together and tops ‘em off a lot like buttercream frosting on a cake. The Law of Performance states that you’re judged by the company you keep. Or as my Mama told be before I left home for college; "Honey, it ain’t what you’re doing, but who you’re doing it with that will make or break you." Success NEVER happens in a vacuum. Sure, there are times when the work that is to be done is a solo affair, but there always comes a point in every success story when a partner, coach, mastermind group, best friend, rich uncle, stranger on the street, guy in a diner (you get the point) provides you with exactly what you need when you need it most (courtesy of the universe of course). Without the support of others who are listening us greater than we know ourselves to be, success will be fleeting if it happens at all. This Law is game changer. For some of you, you will find yourself playing up- that is looking to be around people who are already where you want to be. For others you may find yourself letting go of people in your life who seem to have no clue what reciprocity means. Either way, putting this Law into play in your life guarantees results.

So there you have it; a crash course on the 5 Laws of Success and why Everybody needs to be using them. Questions? Thoughts? Rebuttals? Hit me up and let’s talk!
